FirePro fire suppression technology is neither pressurised gas or water. It is an all electrical potassium based LPCB performance certificated cost effective and green alternative, now adopted by UK DNO’s in sub stations and distribution rooms, diesel generator enclosures, and lithium ion storage facilities. This presentation shares the success of the product and maps the future of fire suppression.
In this presentation, Ian Wilcoxson, Data Centre Channel Manager (EAME) for Kohler Power, will discuss recent regulatory and technological changes along with their impact on sizing and selecting standby generator sets, especially in the context of historic sizing norms. In addition to looking at modern sizing basics and load steps, plus how a properly integrated UPS can assist with these, Ian will also highlight what information and questions to have ready when approaching a potential supplier. In this session, you will learn what has changed and how to select better power protection for your business.
In this presentation, Romain Mocaer will speak about the diesel & gas generator market in 2021 and the coming years: which territories and which segments are recovering faster, and what is the outlook for the next few years.Generally speaking, the generator industry has been affected by the COVID-19 crisis but it has also strengthened some segments that were already growing strongly, such as data centres. We will look at where the major sources of growth are for the generator market.
An overview of the NRMM Retrofit standards to enable older Gen sets to meet real world Stave V emissions. The presentation will cover the Energy Savings Trust accreditation process and will also provide some examples of first-of-a-kind applications that meet the Stage V requirements set by HS2 and the Greater London Authority for NRMM
To manage your power generators and fuel tanks more efficiently, a key requirement is access to correct and relevant data.
A range of Advanced Conversion Technology solutions (Gasification, Pyrolysis etc) are now proven and accepted in the Waste to Energy sector, particularly in the conversion of plastic waste. Presented with variable waste feedstock, these process technologies directly produce variable CV gas and/or liquid fuels, which can be challenging to a downstream prime mover. This market is presently normally served by current OEMs offering adapted standard ranges of their gas and compression ignition engines, resulting in a significant derating of output and efficiency, as indicated by OEMs in their published performance data. Such adapted engines are also known to be very sensitive to variations and excursions in the properties of the selected fuel. In response to the stated demand from the ACT sector that this issue is properly addressed, the author’s company has developed a prime mover for this market by approaching it from the opposite end – that is, with an engine specifically designed a) for low-CV gas (5MJ/Nm3 and above) and b) to be tolerant to reasonable variability of whatever fuel is used.
In this presentation, Romain Mocaer (or Jean-Michel Geiller) will introduce the EUROPGEN association (objectives and missions of the association) and speak about the current challenges and opportunities of the Generating Set Industry in Europe.
Most decarbonising scenarios assume the need to maintain the indoor environmental standards we have become used to. This implies heavy investment in insulation and/or low carbon heat.
Are there alternatives? Over the past century, comfort has been turned into a commodity. However, history suggests that expectations are determined culturally as much as physiologically - at least at the margins; and more recent studies suggest that many people can be quite flexible in their requirements.
So how little might we be able to do to reduce demands for heat rapidly whilst maintain satisfactory conditions? The paper will review some studies and some technical options.
The PUNCH Power 200 system produced by PUNCH Flybrid has demonstrated more than 50% fuel saving on various construction sites across the UK. This presentation highlights its use in combination with tower cranes and explains how these significant fuel as well as emission savings are achieved.
Why chp using waste heat from Hinckley and Sizewell can be economically used to heat London, Bristol, Newport and Cardiff.
This paper looks at the overall economic case, and discusses why most experts use the wrong method of analysing chp.
Topics under discussion include the future role of CHP generation in achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, and supporting green recovery. How the technology might support decarbonisation.
